Seoul, September 20, 2026 : The South Korean military announced Sunday that North Korea launched at least one projectile towards the East Sea.
Joint Chiefs of Staff Monitoring Launch
The Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement published by Yonhap News Agency that they monitored the launch, without providing further details.
Follows Earlier Launch Tied to Trilateral Drills
The launch comes about a week after North Korea fired several short-range ballistic missiles from the Wonsan region towards the East Sea on September 12, in a move seen as a protest against the trilateral military exercises between Seoul, Washington, and Tokyo.
